The wall painting workshop was key to furthering architectural ideas, taking inspiration from art movements like Expressionism and De Stijl, and developing further under the teachings of Johannes Itten, Oskar Schlemmer, Herbert Bayer, and Hinnerk Scheper. All in all 20 studios, ten in Berlin and London took part. Based on the logo found on a poster from 1934, the typeface had a nautical feel to it.
